We teach democratic cooperation, independence and social justice in a positive learning environment

Brooklyn Scouts is an inclusive Scouting organization dedicated to providing a traditional Scout program focused on community service and the outdoors. We aim to reach all Brooklyn youth and their families, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, faith, or economic circumstances.

We currently have 3 Troops (and growing!) with Scouts ranging from 2 to 18 years. There is also an Adult Scout Troop. Brooklyn Scouts and their families actively participate in organizing camping trips, nature and culture outings, service projects, fundraising and regular meetings.

We are associated with Outdoor Service Guides (OSG), a nationwide back-to-basics, inclusive Scouting Organization. The OSG is a member of the World Federation of Independent Scouts (WFIS).

UNDER CONSTRUCTION! While we are back for the 2023-2024 Scouting year, we are still working on updating the website to accurately reflect the status of the 3 groups active in Brooklyn. These are the 234th Stuy Rangers, 5th Prospect Park and the 651 Greenwood, which is the merge of the 89th Flatbush and 1213th Lookout Hill groups
